Luna, Blanco Recognized
Well-positioned leaders and globally-recognized academicians have always been the boon of any higher education institution. It validates the high quality of training that students get and gives them value for their money and time. Recognition gives emphasis on excellence.
Last February 17, 2015, Dr. Veritas Luna, RND, MSN, PhD, the Chancellor for Education of both the Center for Culinary Arts, Manila (CCA) and the Asian School of Hospitality Arts (ASHA), was among the ten who were awarded at the Manila Hotel for being among the Ten Outstanding Nutritionists-Dietitians of the Philippines, an award that is being given out every ten years.
Similarly, ASHA Dean Angelina Blanco and CCA School Operations Manager Elizabeth Morales passed the written assessment as Certified Hospitality Educator by the American Hotel and Lodging Education Institute of the United States of America (AHLEI-USA) last December 13, 2014 in a workshop held at the Hongkong Polytechnic University.
“I feel very honored, but at the same time I find it a very humbling experience because I was being awarded with the likes of Corazon Dayro-Ong who founded CDO,” Dr. Luna intimated pointing out that Ong founded food giant CDO Foodshpere, Inc. According to Dr. Luna, as a professional, she only did her best and always wanted to be of service to people and the nation because this is how she gets her satisfaction.
“What did I do to deserve it? Perhaps they saw that my many work and professional involvements, projects and advocacies contribute to the field and profession. ” Dr. Luna opined.
On the other hand, Blanco said that these awards and certifications are not for the personal benefit of the awardees alone, because it will have implications on the academic standing of the institution that they are with either as a professor or as part of management.
Luna and Blanco thanked their CEO Marinela G. Trinidad, and President Susana P. Guerrero, for supporting them to continue their professional growth while they serve the company in their respective posts.
ASHA and CCA Manila have a strong Faculty Development Program that allows their administrators, faculty and managers to perform well in their work posts, as well as their respective professional fields. The schools hire only the best qualified faculty and administrators to deliver and operate their programs.
